Winter Tournament!! + EU Shipping (For real!)

Hey all, happy new year! I hope you all enjoyed the SSSS.Gridman finale and also hope that these next 12 months are going to be great for everyone. Here’s a quick update on AEGIS happenings throughout time and space!

  •  EU Shipping: Surprise! The games are being shipped out from Spiral Galaxy today. Everyone across this vast planet is soon going to finally have their games. Crazy to think about.
  •  Convention report: Since last time we talked, we’ve gone to PAX Unplugged and OhayoCon and counting Gen Con last year, the game is three for three in terms of nearly selling out. People love the game and that bodes very well for the future of AEGIS. Here’s where we’re planning on going next. We’ll be running tournaments at the larger cons like Origins and Gen Con – so if you’re planning on going to those, test your mettle in battle!

Confirmed appearances and booths in yellow, others are planned, but not nailed down.

AEGIS is trickling into stores around the country, but nothing beats meeting people in person and making real connections with them. This game has done a great job linking like-minded fans of games and robot shows alike, and I want to continue building that community and getting to know all of you. Y’all are awesome.Speaking of which, thank you to all the folks who have left kind words and numbers on our BoardGameGeek and Facebook review pages!

PROMO PARADISE, FEATURING AEGIS

We have another Kickstarter running, sort of!

We, along with many other publishers, have partnered with Board Game Spotlight and Board Game Exposure, two Facebook community groups as part of this fabulous new campaign for various promotional materials for dozens of games. You can obtain our 2019 Convention Promo, ELL-GEL-ION Awakening this way, if you never make it to conventions.

THE AEGIS WEB STORE

Obviously you all own the game, but we do have a new store accessible at robotstrategygame.com for any of your friends who may want to buy it directly from us, as well as buy any extra dice packs and the like.

THE SCENARIO BOOK

Is still not quite there, as well as production getting gummed up by the holidays. Still putting some things together in the book itself, as well as having reached out to a half-dozen more printers. Yet apologies on this, but it is looking very cool. For those interested in the finer details of production, I just need to finalize and sanity check all the map set-ups and rules wordings for the 20 chapters, as well as format some new pages I’ve added and finalized the cover design.

~ * If any deluxe backer would also like to help test some of the chapters, send me an email at breeze@zephyrworkshop.com * ~

And finally…

THE WINTER ONLINE TOURNAMENT

It’s been a while since we’ve done one of these – the previous one didn’t fire off for a multitude of reasons, so we’re going back to what worked the first time. That first tournament was worth a lot of amazing feedback when the game was still in development, and now we get to see the printed game in action!

  •  What: Come one, come all! Serious or just for fun, flex your AEGIS robot-fighting muscles! It’s a single-elimination tournament with a standard bracket using standard 2-player tournament rules (best 2-of-3, you have a team of seven robots, 5 to use each game with 2 in your sideboard). No limit on combined robots.
  •  When: The tournament will begin proper on around the 28th. Each round is not timed, and ends when the last players in the round finish their matches. It works on your schedule!
  •  How: The game will take place via Tabletop Simulator, which is a very worth-it program to have on Steam. Players can communicate via email or on our Discord, or however else.
  •  Winners: Pending on the number of participants, the top of the bracket will all receive $25+ Gift Cards and special Discord titles, with the grand prize winner again receiving the rights to direct/design their own exclusive alternate art promo card, artist TBD.

Check out the rest of the details!

>> SIGN UP NOW <<

I’m very excited for this, so hopefully we get a lot of sign ups! Nothing is locked in until the tournament starts, so feel free to submit a team, etc now and change it later.

The grand prize artist last time, Emily Hancock, did this great new version of Kal by request of her creator, Brifox. What would you choose? We’ll grant you one wish, any wish.

Hope to see you all at a convention some time. We also have myriad other things in the works now that I hope to loop you guys in on soon.

Happy AEGIS-ing!
