Halloween Promo Card! Introducing… Jack O’Luxiana!
Happy Halloween!
As I went over in our last post, we’ve made a lot of Promo cards for AEGIS in the last year. Sometimes they’re for conventions, other times they’re for holidays – this is obviously the latter. This new Halloween robot is a new spin on everyone’s favorite enigmatic mechanic and her reassembling companion, Luxiana and the Exyth.
For background, Luxiana is one of ten Commanders co-designed by backers from our Kickstarter. In this case, he was very open to ideas, suggesting mainly the concept of a “Day of the Dead” character. Her design came together very quickly after that, and she was the one that went through the least revisions. The idea of a robot that could revive itself and trigger damage on death was a very natural evolution of the original concept.
And now, building on that further is this new card: its main ability now being called Jumpscare. Gone are the days of having to deal damage to revive Luxiana’s bot, now she can pop up anywhere, as long as something has died that turn. It’s a simple ability and a small change, but with endless new applications. Since her self-resurrection is now far less limited, we decided to drop her Energy Output to compensate, though she did also get an attack upgrade to go along with it. Indeed, Twinscythe Fiesta is now Grimscythe Fiesta, watch out for those Critical hits!
Years in the Making
Here’s some trivia for you: the lovely new art by Maung Thuta here is actually quite old. We’ve been posting it on various Halloweens for years, and its art inspired the art for Luxiana’s Exyth, rather than vice-versa. I’ve been wanting a Halloween promo for a long time, and bringing this art home to Luxiana’s card felt right.
Available to Play Now!
As with all our promos, you can play with this new card on Tabletop Simulator.
