AEGIS FALL TOURNAMENT RESULTS!

ATTENTION ROBOT FANS!

For the last two months, players have waged war across four rounds of intense AEGIS battles in our first Swiss Bracket tournament and these are the results!

Before we move on to the Round 4 results, here’s a recap of the teams and previous rounds:

Team Builds

Round 1

Round 2

Round 3

On to the results!

EpicImpulse vs TD260

Epic did the trademarked combined into AROZ-6000 on turn one and TD260 countered with the SSM-3000 Sunset Mode, the perfect robot to fight the AROZ. This immediately became a long range battle of attrition and bombardment. The AROZ and SSM hung back, the other robots charged! When a robot fell on Epic’s team, retribution and destruction was taken on TD260’s side and vice versa. Both players planned strategically which robots to target and when the dust finally settled, EpicImpulse was victorious! Round 2 continued this titanic struggle, in the end Epic build their team with the better energy production, and TD260’s SSM-3000 Sunset mode fell. Epic is the victor!

CAnon vs Brifox

CAnon left his SSM in range of Brifox’s SEN, resulting in a 1 shot kill on the SSM. Undismayed by this energy set back, CAnon combining into the level 2 ABB and EI ENDER, to bring the fight to Brifox. CAnon’s ABB made quick work of Brifox’s ARK, but didn’t last long against the onslaught from Brifox’s ENDER and GHILI. Brifox’s GHILI valiantly fell after fighting CAnon’s ENDER. Brifox finshed off the game by using the ION to drain CAnon’s energy, game 1 to Brifox!

CAnon was ready for Brifox! GAN was swapped in to dissuade and interrupt Brifox’s plans. CAnon hid the SSM behind the GAN and Brifox was forced to use his SEN’s laser to hit them both, resulting in another crippling early game energy loss. Across the board Brifox’s ENDER battled and took out CAnon’s ENDER in one fatal shot. This allowed a slower, less optimal takedown of the GAN. Slowly, shot after shot, Brifox whittled away at GAN’s health with his SEN, with the ION burning away energy (and health). This was an odd way to remove the GAN, but slow and steady wins this race!  After the GAN was gone, Brifox FINALLY got a hit in with his ARK’s head blade, it felt like it was the first time this tournament it connected. Brifox wins!

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE FALL TOURNAMENT WINNER EPICIMPULSE!

They finished the tournament with an impressive 4-0 record. TD260 and Brifox each finished at 2-2, but TD260 had better tiebreakers clenching second! Thank you to all our contenders, you fought valiantly and your battles were awesome! Check out our YouTube channel to watch them!

The field was incredibly diverse with only one commander repeating (Gamound). This resulted in wildly different team builds and strategies.

Thanks again to all commanders, we had a blast watching your battles! We hope to see you at the Winter League!
