Take 5: October, Spooky Scary Robots

October was a busy month for Zephyr Workshop, we’ve been interviewed on not one, not two, but three different shows! We had some high level design meetings to update some of the robots that needed it the most. It’s always worthwhile though, so we can get the A.E.G.I.S Kickstarter in top top shape.  *Look for the Kickstarter in Q1 2016*! We have some exciting stuff planned for the next few months so follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and keep reading our dev blogs to stay updated!

With that, here are the top five news bits for October 2015!

a-logoBeyondTheHorizonIf you tuned in to Beyond the Horizon Radio on the 17th, you heard Breeze, Ryan, and Jesse talking about the beginning of A.E.G.I.S up to our current point in development.  After that discussion, topics varied from Kickstarter and Star Citizen to a Kanye West presidency. After the broadcast, they played four player tag team with the awesome hosts Dave Maddaluno and Kai.

As detailed in our last Take 5, Breeze and Ryan were also interviewed on WEMF Radio and got to spread the gospel of combining robots thanks to the host Pat Bordendave.

On October 29th Breeze and Sarah were interviewed live by Daniel Zayas of Smarterbacker! We had a great time talking about the game and it’s mechanics, and if you tuned in you were eligible to win free games courtesy of our publisher Greenbrier Games! You can check out the recording here!

FeuchtPicThe Worcester Game Pile meeting this month was a Lighting pitch contest. Similar to a game jam, you got prompts and pitched a game from them.  Our team members Breeze, Ryan and Zach all participated, with Breeze and Ryan coming in 3rd place for their pitch of Feucht! Check out the pitch for Feucht here!

Zephyr Workshop members also participated in the Becker IGDA 24 Hour Game Jam, where we continued development of one of our other projects.

Design meetings continued this month as we reworked a bunch of I types and level 3 robots. We have some exciting updates to these robots and if you find us at a convention, you may get the chance to test them out! Also check out our preliminary breakdown of A.E.G.I.S.’ new game mode, Point Control!

To finish off the take 5 for the month, we have a special treat for you guys. One of the awesome artists we found in our artist search, Muang Thuta, designed an epic Halloween themed robot for the game! It’s very impressive work and we look forward to working more with Muang!
