We Have an Office!

Exciting news from the front! Zephyr Workshop has moved into a coworking space after winning StartUp Worcester, an initiative to foster new and exciting tech start-ups in Central MA. We’ll be working from there from May this year to May 2016.

We found the StartUp Worcester competition through some friends in early 2015, and we signed up Zephyr Workshop immediately. This program is run by the Worcester Chamber of Commerce, and we are so thrilled to have been able to take part in it. To qualify, we had to put forward our company’s mission statement, accomplishments and business plan. There was a judging process of about a month, and we received notification in early April that we were one of 12 selected companies. Along with fellow game developers Petricore, Inc and For All To Play, who are out of Becker and WPI respectively, we are bringing some fun to the Worcester coworking scene.

runningstartOur space is at RunningStart, a coworking office in Worcester. It’s a remodeled factory with tons of space and supplies for dozens of small companies, and we would recommend it to anyone in the area looking for a place to work. We especially love the massive whiteboard tables (seriously, these are the most brilliant concept ever). Since obtaining this office space, we have used it to work more cohesively on both A.E.G.I.S. and new titles, and there will be a lot of great work coming from us in the future because of it.

Further, in collaboration with the Worcester Game Pile, we plan on holding monthly meetups to strengthen the Central MA game development community-at-large. By bringing together a wide variety of area game makers in one place, we can facilitate communication and strengthen the community for all of us– and for those reading who aren’t game developers, this also means working out how to bring better games to you! We hope to host other events such as game jams in the future as well. After all, certain games we’re working on have sprung from the creative processes involved in such events.

In summation, if you’re in central MA, RunningStart is a great place to work. It’s a great space in a great part of the city, and we couldn’t be happier with it. We would like to thank Ryan Leary of RunningStart for running such a great working space, and the Worcester Chamber of Commerce for recognizing and believing in us and our company.

We’ll be back soon with further updates on A.E.G.I.S., the state of the publishing process, and perhaps some more information on those new titles we mentioned!
